063-1.gif

Here, it is assumed that the shopping, entertainment and tourism trip potential (currently 35,000 people per day at the weekend) will rise in proportion to the increase in the floor area of commercial and entertainment facilities by 2000, and trip potential figures of 52,000 people per day at weekends, 35,000 people per day on weekdays and 88,000 people per day on holidays are set.
2)Trips by Waterfront Residents out of the District
b-1 Waterfront Hotel Guests
The present capacity of hotels located in the Waterfront area is relatively small, however, work on new hotels is already underway and it is forecast that hotel floor space in the future will be more than 10 times what it is now.
The following expression is used to estimate the future number of hotel guests.
Number of hotel guests = Number of hotel rooms x average occupancy x average number of guests per room
From this, it is estimated that the number of hotel guests will increase from around 80 now to 1,200 in the future.
